Update 20.5.24: dirschedl.de now replaces dirschedl.tech; dirschedl.tech VPS server deleted; link updates in progress
Today, I’ve used the backup plugin updraftplus to clone the website dirschedl.tech from my Strato VPS server to my Strato PowerWebPro account and changed it’s URL to dirschedl.de.
Updraftplus managed the transfer of the data and the neccessary changes regarding the new URL without any problems. Changing the SSL certificate to dirschedl.de went “nearly” smoothly 😉
After some further tests, I plan to completely reinstall the 4 year old dirschedl.tech VPS server installation going from ubuntu 18.4/php 7.4 to ubuntu 22.4 /php8.x. Till dirschedl.tech is fully restored on the new VPS installation, I will point dirschedl.tech to dirschedl.de.
Hopefully, this will enable another 3-4 years without major upgrade issues
